I met JD about 9 years ago through my good friend Mike,who is like a brother to JD & Jeremy. JD always showed love & respect to everyone he met,he had a big heart. I used to hoop with JD at Lowell on Thursdays for years. It was always a pretty tight knit group that came out every week,everybody pretty much knew each other. He always wanted us to come out & hoop or even just to kick it at the gym. I'll miss those times. JD I got you in my heart, you will never be forgotten. We all knew Jason DelaCruz aka "JD" within the basketball circuit. I first meet him maybe 3 or 4 years ago playing open gym basketball @ Lowell High. From then on we pretty much became the regular team that would come out there every Thursday nite to get a good sweat. Competition was always good because Jeremy and his team would always be playing their and it was all pretty much the "Wizards" territory. After years of playing open gym their it started to slowly die down but JD would always keep us in mind because he knew that we were just always down to run. Just looking back at all the good times that we had at open gym will only be our memory of JD. My last memory of him was speaking to him over the phone last Thursday 3/27 asking if I was coming to open gym but I told him no because I really wanted to watch that Warrior game. So I told JD that I would see him next week. It's just sad news to find out the next week I'll be seeing JD is in a casket over gun violence. On a good note, JD will never be forgotten by the JUMPMEN family.
